April 7, 2008

To Whom It May Concern:

On April 3, 2008 the Sherwood Sports Complex was destroyed by a Tornado
that tore through Central Arkansas. The Sylvan Hills-Sherwood Optimist Club would like to ask for your help in rebuilding our park.

There are approximately 900 youths from Sherwood, Jacksonville, North Little Rock and the surrounding areas that signed up to play baseball and softball at our park this season.  Several gracious area ball clubs have donated their fields to help us get our season started, but we are also looking to get our park rebuilt as quickly as possible.

On Friday, May 2, 2008, 6pm at Sherwood Forest, in Sherwood, we will have a community wide Chili Supper and Silent Auction to raise money to rebuild our park.  If you or your business would be able to make a donation for our supper
and silent auction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Please call our fundraising coordinator Amy Gunnett at 501.416.0101 to have your donation picked up or you can mail any donation, gift card, or certificate to our silent auction chairperson:

Jodie Heslep
708 West 55th Street
North Little Rock, AR 72118

Thank you so much for your participation!

                                                    Sincerely,

                                                    The Sylvan Hills-Sherwood Optimist Club
